Welcome to 2006!

Well, how is the hangover? Recovered?

2006, a brand new year and no doubt you have given yourself some resolutions to go with it. Well so have we!

This year we aim to be: bigger, better, more inclusive and retain that sense of fun...we hope you approve!

Now, as far as we can tell there no live events today except for the open mic night at the Westgate in Taunton to keep your musical bones happy.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) the picking are rather slim as well.

Advance News For Blues Fans
A new name will be playing at The Wyndham Arms (Kingsbury Episcopi) on Tuesday 7th February.

Dan Phelps may be an unknown name locally but don't let that stop you from hearing
some of the best blues slide playing around. Dan specialises in Delta blues and ragtime from the 1920 and 30s combined with his own skillful, well written compositions.















Originally from Chicago but now based in Charleston, South Carolina Dan Phelps set includes classics from Blind Willie McTell, Muddy Waters and of course, Robert Johnson.
Skill and passion that shows his genuine love for the music shines through his playing. Fabulous slide and beaty R'n'B combines in a show that will have your feet stompin'.

David Hall Arts Centre - Events for Spring
The David Hall Arts Centre in South Petherton has just launched their spring schedule of events. To see for yourself what they have on go to their web site www.thedavidhall.org.uk.

This Saturday (7th January) a fundraising event takes place when the sound of children’s laughter will fill the Grade 2 Listed Building as they are entertained at The Fabulous New Year Children’s Panto Party, with loads of fun entertainment orchestrated by the legendary Professor Paradox. Tickets will cost £5 each on the door for adults and children – or, £4 in advance - and include free refreshments for the kids. A treat not to be missed!
